Compared to 911. Holy Geezus.

911 is huge next to 911:

Indeed

This is more shocking

I was expecting an eel.

Damn, that’s amazing. Never would have realized that.

Lots of people like to shit on GM for not going to overhead cams on their V8's, but overhead valve engines have a very clear packaging advantage.

should look at the VW Golf next to the original Golf.....Talk about fat

What’s more shocking is the tiny weight difference.

There’s also the famous SN95 Mustang engine comparo, the pushrod 5.0 vs the DOHC 4.6

I hope an Accord is bigger than a Beetle!

An exec drove his air cooled 911 to work today, and it really does look like a tweaked Beetle.

I forget where, what, or when but I’ve seen a post concerning this picture and someone pointed out that it’s not a Ford 4.6 and another DOHC entirely. Not sure if it was true or not.
In other news when you search google by image it comes up with “big block vs small block” lol.

If I had to guess which one had it’s engine in the trunk, I would pick the one on the left.

I dunno, it sure looks like a 4.6:

911 and Leaf

Pretty much same picture, this is the one I saw being questioned.
I agree either way, just figure I’d offer that. Either way I’m a 302 purist, have 3 of them in the fleet currently.

It’s shocking how much better the rear visibility was in the 60's!!!
![]() 11/29/2016 at 23:22 |

Yep, that rear window is the only part to get smaller.

I’m not a push rod fan (the lazy character of it), but I was always curious why they didn’t just restrict based on engine size vs displacement of the cylinders themselves. Like way back when, it would have been hilarious if your engine had to fit inside one of those boxes made for carry on baggage
